We are thrilled with this year's line-up, even better than last.
Having Ashley Hutchings playing is a piece of serendipity (Ashleys' coming
home!) and the Eugene 'hideaway' Bridges Band is a real coup - they were in Memphis where they were nominated for the WC Handy Blues Awards for
the' Live in San Antone' album when we confirmed them for the festival.
Obviously always a delight to have Leatherat (also playing the main stage for the first time this year and local favourites) 'Spank the Monkey' belting out that particularly British form of Rythm and Blues. Bryanna Hardyman is from Memphis and playing here with a band from London, Bonnie Raitt meets Janis Joplin meets Loretta Lynn!! The Producers have been one of the top British Blues Bands over the past two decades, now reformed and
re-energised they will be a real act to try and follow but Wamma Jamma
will certainly fit the bill with Nickl Kent's awseome sax playing
blowing the blues.
We have to make a special mention of King King featuring Alan Nimmo, taking the blues world by storm in festivals all over the country, you won't see better anywhere. Bruise provide a more modern Indie take on their music and we have the acoustic delights of Simon Kempston anmd Dave Onions in the bar of the evenings. Finally ex Pogues guitarist Jamie Clark's perfect kick the whole week off on the Sunday prior to the festival. What a week!!!!
